Why use Open Science?

This course is held in the Czech language.

Most scientists still ask why they should open their data and what the point of the Open Science policy is. This presentation shows concrete cases where Open Science principles have proven their worth in practice and contributed to the development of scientific research. These principles can be used by future Data Stewards to establish relationships with future researchers in their institutions.

Practical licensing issues

This course is held in the Czech language.

During the talk, we will discuss the different types of licenses, including public licenses such as Creative Commons, open-source software licenses such as the GNU GPL and MIT, and database licensing. We will also discuss practical approaches to licensing, choosing the proper license, and situations in which licensing should be avoided, both from the perspective of the licensor and the licensee.
