Summer School for Data Stewards 2026

No description

The Summer School for Data Stewards is a three-day intensive programme focused on developing skills in research data management in line with FAIR principles.

The programme will guide participants through the full data workflow – from organisation and documentation to practical use. It will focus on creating and managing data management plans using the Data Stewardship Wizard, illustrated with practical examples from the national research data infrastructure. We will also show when and how Jupyter Notebooks can help streamline data work, supporting both analysis and documentation.

The programme will include discussion sessions, providing space for participants to share practical experiences. Attention will also be given to communication skills, which are essential for data stewards in everyday collaboration. The programme will be enriched by an international guest, Matthias Täschner from Leipzig University.

The Summer School is intended for both project and institutional data stewards. On the second morning, the programme will be divided into two parallel tracks according to focus areas, allowing participants to choose the option that best suits their interests.

The Summer School has a capacity of 35 participants. If you are considering registering multiple participants from the same institution, please take this into account.

The language of instruction will be adapted to the composition of participants.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Organisational Information:

  • Meals and accommodation will be provided for registered participants. Any accommodation required on the day before the programme is the responsibility of the participant.
  • Travel expenses must be covered individually by participants.
  • The event is funded by the IPS EOSC-CZ project.
