Members of the EOSC CZ Working Groups Elect Their Representatives Again After Two Years
EOSC CZ enters a new phase: this year’s working group elections reflect the shift toward practical use of the infrastructure and the development of services.
The National Repository Platform for Research Data (NRP) project has successfully passed a crucial evaluation and has been approved by the Evaluation Committee of the P JAC Managing Authority. After meeting the evaluators' and the committee's requirements, the project proposal will be ready for formal approval and allocation of funds for implementation. The project officially began on January 1, 2024, and has already undergone six months of intensive work.
"The evaluation was critical for the project's future. A potential negative assessment would have significantly impacted the entire EOSC initiative implementation process in the Czech Republic, potentially leading to substantial budget cuts or extensive modification requirements, at the very least delaying and complicating the implementation. The approval of the project's plans with only minimal demands for insignificant changes confirms the high quality of the prepared project and validates the timely commencement of the project," said Luděk Matyska, the principal investigator of the NRP project.
Given the successful evaluation, the project continues to be implemented according to the original plans, and the professional community can look forward to the results that will create a comprehensive foundation for broad collaboration in research data management.

Building and connecting expert communities is one of the core activities of the EOSC CZ initiative. Alongside the development of infrastructure and services, strong emphasis is placed on the people who use these tools in practice and help move them forward. For this reason, a series of thematic networking events was organised throughout the past year, bringing together researchers, data stewards, institutional leadership and professionals engaged in Open Science and research data management.
