Brno: From Floppy Disks to Programming with AI

At the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University, the Open Science and CERIT-SC teams will introduce data from the ground up. Visitors will discover how the form and volume of data have changed over time, how much information could fit on a floppy disk and what metadata are.

Interactive activities will also focus on the secure storage and sharing of data. There will also be a practical demonstration of artificial intelligence. Visitors will be able to see how a simple computer game can be created using just a straightforward text prompt.

Ostrava: Everyday Data

Visitors will also encounter citizen science at the IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center in Ostrava. Discover how small, seemingly ordinary pieces of information from our everyday lives can tell a much bigger story. But if people are to share them and understand one another, they need to know how to record and communicate them properly.

Come and experience the power of communication first-hand – create your own data record or discover how much can be learned from fragments of stories from the past.
