Do you need to store and share research data for your scientific community over the long term? We provide an environment where you can build a new data repository tailored to your needs, or migrate an existing one.
We offer consultation for repository design and the technical resources required for implementation:
- storage capacity
- repository software
- infrastructure for deployment and operation
Standard components in a basic configuration are available. If your repository requires additional features or entirely new functionality, you can extend it with development provided on your side.
The result is a repository tailored to a specific research domain or data type, built on sustainable infrastructure and optional community-managed extensions. All repositories operate within the National Repository Platform, run by the CESNET association.
Who the service is for
The service is available to individuals and organisations across the research community in three modes:
- Individuals
A repository can be created by any person representing a specialist group with the need for a domain-specific repository. - Individuals under an organisation
The organisation signs a framework agreement with the NRP operator, which allows its members to request the creation of a repository with institutional backing. - Organisations
A repository is established directly by an institution based on an agreement with the NRP operator. Additional partner organisations may also participate in its operation.
Scope and operating conditions
- Operating conditions (in preparation)
- The scope of the service depends on how the repository is integrated into the NRP environment. For full details, see the
Conditions for Creating New and Modifying Existing Thematic Repositories in the Open Science II Project:
- 4.1 Establishing a Repository Using Core Repository Systems
- 4.2 Establishing a Repository Operated on NRP Resources Without Using Core Repository Systems
- 4.3 Integration of an Existing Independently Operated Repository into the NRP/National Data Infrastructure (NDI)
