Members of the EOSC CZ Working Groups Elect Their Representatives Again After Two Years
EOSC CZ enters a new phase: this year’s working group elections reflect the shift toward practical use of the infrastructure and the development of services.
In approximately ten days, from 21 to 23 October 2024, the EOSC Symposium 2024 will take place in Berlin - a key event for professionals and those interested in open science and the EOSC (European Open Science Cloud). Until 14 October, there is still a chance to register for the online stream and watch all the action live.
The symposium will offer a wide range of topics - from examples of the scientific, societal and economic impact of EOSC to discussions on interoperability, sensitive data and the role of artificial intelligence in data processing. Highlights of the program include the opening plenary session on Monday and the launch of the EOSC Federation on Tuesday 22 October, including the launch of the new EOSC EU node.
The organizers have also prepared video teasers for each session of the program. These short teasers can be viewed on the official EOSC Symposium 2024 website, where you can also find the complete program and register for the online stream.
Three of our colleagues, Luděk Matyska, Marek Cebecauer and Jiří Marek, will be actively participating in the symposium for the Czech Republic and will be presenting in the main program blocks. EOSC CZ will also present a poster introducing the Czech initiative.

Building and connecting expert communities is one of the core activities of the EOSC CZ initiative. Alongside the development of infrastructure and services, strong emphasis is placed on the people who use these tools in practice and help move them forward. For this reason, a series of thematic networking events was organised throughout the past year, bringing together researchers, data stewards, institutional leadership and professionals engaged in Open Science and research data management.
