as the year draws to a close, we would like to thank you for your support and cooperation throughout 2024. Together we have made significant progress in connecting czech science to the European Open Science Cloud and in fostering innovation across the research community.

Masaryk University is part of a process aimed at creating a system in which neither readers pay to access scientific articles nor authors pay to publish them. In Czechia, the university is establishing a national centre linked to the European Diamond Capacity Hub.
The European Open Science expert gives many talks a year on opening up research. Yet he believes that, in the future, Open Science will no longer be a priority. In this interview, he explains why FAIR data are essential, why changing mindsets takes time, and why a new generation of researchers could make openness the normal way of doing science.
