The repository from the users’ perspective: from needs to a functional solution

This course is held in the Czech language.

Annotation: When building a repository, it is essential to understand the specific needs of its target users and to adapt both its design and functionality accordingly. However, obtaining clear feedback from the user community on the system design, agreeing on the repository’s configuration, and subsequently verifying that the final solution genuinely meets their needs is not always straightforward.

As part of the webinar, representatives of four repositories being developed within the National Repository Platform (ArchaeoVault, Czech BioImaging, DANTEc and NMA) will share their experience in identifying user needs and involving the community in both the design and testing of the system. They will be followed by Pavlína Špringerová from the NRP UX team, who will present how to choose an appropriate user research method, how to implement it correctly, and how to evaluate the results effectively.

The webinar will also include the sharing of useful materials and practical recommendations. The session will conclude with time for questions and open discussion.

Benefits for participants: Participants will gain an overview of user research methods in the context of data repositories and learn how to select the appropriate method for their specific use case. They will become familiar with both the methodology and current experience of user research in repositories being developed within the NRP.
