Annotation: Most grant calls now require applicants to describe their approach to research data (management) and open science practices at the application stage. In the context of Czech funding calls, this is usually a relatively brief and often overlooked section of the proposal. However, if completed incorrectly, it may have significant consequences, particularly if the application is successful. This webinar will guide participants through the preparation of this section, with a particular focus on Czech funding calls while also addressing requirements commonly encountered in European programmes.

Jan Vališ
He graduated in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT Prague), where his research focuses on the application of digital signal processing and machine learning to the diagnostic use of vibrational spectroscopy. In addition to his research and teaching activities at UCT Prague, he also serves as a Faculty Data Steward. Together with colleagues from the Data Stewardship Support team, he provides methodological support in research data management (RDM) to researchers applying for national and international grants, helping them meet the open science (OS) requirements of funding organisations. He is also actively involved in providing guidance and training in RDM and OS at the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences and within the NCIP RDI project at the National Library of Technology.
