The author of the lecture comes from an IT background, where he has been working with information systems in classical and digital libraries for more than 30 years. He has been involved in designing and implementing several digital libraries, so he has a lot of experience with metadata and its deployment in this area. On the other hand, he has zero experience in metadata for research data, so he will not go into this specific area.
