He is the Product Manager for the RAiD identifier at the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), where he is responsible for its technical development. Before joining ARDC in 2019, he spent many years working in research support and as a data librarian at several Australian universities and research institutes. Initially, he led a programme focused on developing software skills, before going on to build a community around software container orchestration.

He leads a research group at the J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where he specialises in advanced research on cell membranes. Within the EOSC CZ initiative, he coordinates the team responsible for automating the collection of (meta)data for the National Repository Platform. He also serves as Chair of the EOSC CZ MATECH Working Group and as the disciplinary ambassador to the international Research Data Alliance (RDA).

He is Head of the Department of Information Resources and Landscape Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague. His current research focuses primarily on the digital humanities, the application of digital methods and tools in archaeology, and the management of digital research data. He has long served as the principal administrator of the Archaeological Information System of the Czech Republic (AIS CR).
