New President of EOSC Association: Klaus Tochtermann to Lead the Association to Further Success

Klaus Tochtermann was unanimously elected as the new president of the EOSC Association at the 10th General Assembly on 27 May 2025. He will assume office on 1 July 2025, succeeding Karel Luyben, who has led the association for seven years. Klaus Tochtermann expressed enthusiasm and determination to guide EOSC’s future, particularly as it nears its operational phase and key decisions beyond 2027.

EOSC Federation Kick-off Workshop

The EOSC build-up phase officially kicked off in March 2025 with a workshop in Brussels. 13 organisations have been selected to join the first wave of EOSC Federation Candidate Nodes, marking a significant step in the development of a collaborative, community-driven European research ecosystem. These organisations represent diverse sectors within the European Research Area and will work together to co-develop the EOSC Federation’s work plan, helping establish a sustainable and integrated research infrastructure across Europe.
