Social Sciences

This working group deals with research data relevant to the social sciences, regardless of their disciplinary origin and methodology. It focuses primarily on data produced by basic and applied research departments in sociology, economics, political science, psychology and other social science disciplines. The interdisciplinary use of data from social science research or data from other scientific fields contributing to the solution of related questions is important as well.

The group’s main objectives include:

1. Exploring the landscape of data resources relevant to social science research in the Czech Republic.
2. Setting up procedures and processes for the implementation of relevant data resources into the emerging national environment for the storage and processing of research data (with regard to the specificities of social science research).
3. Identifying significant interdisciplinary connections in the area of data resources, related standards and technological issues of sharing and working with data relevant to social sciences.
4. Defining opportunities and principles to support data management in research practice and professional data handling training with regard to sharing data resources in social science research.
