Why use Open Science?

This course is held in the Czech language.

Annotation: Most scientists still ask why they should open their data and what the point of the Open Science policy is. This presentation shows concrete cases where Open Science principles have proven their worth in practice and contributed to the development of scientific research. Future data Stewards can use these principles to establish relationships with future researchers in their institutions.

Benefits for the attendees: All participants should be able to describe the use of Open Science, including practical examples, to gain the trust and interest of the scientific staff at their institution, an essential job for any aspiring Data Steward.

Mgr. Bc. Aleš Mučka, Ph.D. is a specialist employee of the Central Library of VŠB-TUO and, from October 2023, the first Data Steward at VŠB-TUO. Bachelor's degree in Archival Science and History. Master's degree in History and Ph.D. in Ancient History. He graduated from Masaryk University in Brno. Mr. Mučka is also a member of the Data Steward community, collaborates with the National Repository Platform, and lectures at the Ph. Academy of VŠB-TUO.
