On 19 June 2025, another EOSC CZ networking meeting was hosted by the University of Hradec Králové (UHK). The programme focused on using national e-infrastructures and tools supporting open science. An interesting topic of discussion was the search for a suitable repository for storing and describing archaeological data – an absence that the UHK is actively working to resolve. EOSC-CZ is helping to connect users with the developers of the emerging repository.

The current system of scientific publishing is facing growing criticism. Pressure for quantity, high fees, and the rising dominance of large publishers may undermine the quality and trust in research. Experts emphasise that solutions should focus on prioritizing quality over quantity, as well as reforming researcher evaluation and financial models. Generative AI brings new challenges to this debate. Read more in the article by Mandy Hill, Director of Academic Publishing at Cambridge University Press, published in The Guardian.
